El presente informe propone un programa de investigación sobre la alfabetización de adultos que le da prioridad sobre la evaluación sistemática de los logros en el aprendizaje. Tal estudio podría juntar, para su confrontación y comparación, datos provenientes de observaciones y mediciones, datos cualitativos y cuantitativos. Por las nuevas dimensiones de migración y contacto entre comunidades y poblaciones en movimiento, el factor del aprendizaje de segundas lenguas, dentro del proceso de alfabetización, se perfila de manera importante. Los nuevos senderos de contacto intercultural, a lo largo de los años, han efectuado profundos cambios que debemos tomar en cuenta para entender mejor los cambios sociolingüísticos recientes. Al entender mejor los cambios sociales, este avance nos ayudará a evaluar con más precisión los procesos de aprendizaje. El siguiente reporte sobre la experiencia de un colectivo de alumnas y su maestra en una comunidad bilingüe en México dará lugar a un examen de cuestiones teóricas y de método que contribuirá a esta propuesta.
The following report proposes a research program in adult literacy that prioritizes the systematic evaluation of learning outcomes. Such a study could bring together, for contrasting and comparing, data from observation and measurement, qualitative and quantitative. Because of the new dimensions of migration and contact between communities and populations in movement, the factor of second language learning, within the literacy learning process, comes forward in an important way. The new directions of intercultural contact, across the years, has introduced profound changes that we need to take into account so as to better understand recent sociolinguistic changes. Upon better understanding the social changes, this progress in our understanding will help us evaluate with greater precision the learning processes. The report on the experience of a collective of learners and their teacher from a bilingual community in Mexico will inform an examination of theoretical questions and questions of method that will contribute to this proposal.
