Ser un hablante competente en una L2 no solo implica adquirir conocimientos sobre las formas gramaticales de la lengua meta, sino también desarrollar la competencia pragmática, crucial en la producción adecuada de actos de habla, las estrategias de (des)cortesía, y la comprensión del uso de los marcadores pragmáticos. El presente artículo versa sobre cómo aprendices de ELE de diferentes lenguas maternas consiguen desarrollar su competencia pragmática mediante el uso del marcador de toma de turno pues. El objetivo del estudio consiste en ahondar en las diferentes funciones pragmáticas de pues en la posición sintáctica inicial y en analizar en qué funciones discursivas parecen más o menos frecuentes en los distintos grupos de aprendices. De tal modo, se estudiará cómo el uso de este marcador de toma de turno puede servir de indicador del desarrollo de la competencia pragmática en aprendices belgas de habla neerlandesa, italianos y eslovenos de ELE. Los resultados de los aprendices se compararán con los de un grupo de control nativo
Being a competent L2 speaker involves not only acquiring knowledge of grammatical forms in the target language, but also developing pragmatic competence, which is crucial in the appropriate production of speech acts, (im)politeness strategies, and understanding the use of discourse markers. The present article deals with how EFL learners of different mother tongues manage to develop their pragmatic competence through the use of the turn-taking marker pues. The aim of the study is to investigate the different pragmatic functions of pues in the initial syntactic position and to analyse in which discourse functions it appears to be more or less frequent in different groups of learners. In this manner, it will be studied how the use of this turn-taking pragmatic marker can serve as an indicator of the development of pragmatic competence in Dutch-speaking Belgian, Italian and Slovenian learners of Spanish. The results of the learner group will be compared to those of a native benchmark group.
