Argentina
Finalmente, ofrezco algunas reflexiones.
This article deals with sentential relationships, which is a topic that teaching, from quite a few years ago, has ignored or continues undertaking in a routinary practice. However, in a view focused on reflexion, not only the study of simple sentences, but also their combinations in different types of compound sentences, has to be included in teaching. This is so, because their different shades of meaning are essential for text production and understanding. After a brief overview that describes the different approaches to the teaching of syntax in Argentinean classrooms, I present some guidelines for the teaching of sentential relationships. The proposal consists of two aspects: firstly, the opositive macrorelations −addition/contrast, simultaneity/succession, actual/virtual occurrence, etc.−, which enable to identify the semantic relations among the constituents and avoid the usual taxonomic view of textbooks. Secondly, the different levels of structure in which these relationships operate, ranging from the one of the predicate to those that manifest modality, illocutionary force and connection with discourse. The adoption of these different layers of inclusion allows to assume a continuity perspective between sentence and text. In the end, some reflexions are offered.
