This article offers a proposal of an overlaping principle that facilitates the insertion of phraseologisms one inside the other. This allows the production of amplifications that do not justify a taxonomic increment of the phraseological subcategorizations, being microsyntactic operations between phrasemes. The tension amid the fixed disposition that all phraseologisms inherently have and the capability of mutual overlap helps understand the contradictory coexistence between the fixed disposition that define this units in language and the variation that the discourse shows. At the same time and with this objective, the article studies the different types of phrasemes in Spanish, French, Italian, Portugueses, Catalan and Asturian.
