Granada, España
This article uses a real-time analysis to investigate the realization of explosive sibilant consonants. The data are drawn from the AGENDA-GRAN corpus, an expanded and updated version of the PRESEEA-GRAN corpus. A comparison of the two corpora allows for the observation of the linguistic changes that have taken place over the past 15 years in Granada, Andalusia (Spain). The article specifically examines the factors contributing to the increase of distinction, the decrease of seseo, and the marginalisation of ceceo. Furthermore, it considers the social variables that influence these processes, with particular emphasis on the role of education level and gender as variables. Finally, the study identifies three representative linguistic profiles, classifying speakers into three categories: pure distinguishers; distinguishers and seseantes; and those who mix the three characteristics (distinction, seseo, and ceceo)
